Post production has begun on “A Sporting Chance” a major three part Motive/Gyre & Gimble co-production for Setanta Sports.
Funded by the BAI, the programme makers partnered with Munster Rugby and Solas (an Adult education programme in Limerick City), to give fourteen unemployed youngsters an opportunity to turn their lives around by actively engaging in an intensive tag rugby training programme. Directed and filmed by Gerry Nelson the series was shot from January through to March, culminating in an away tournament in the home of WASPs in London. Presented by Liam Toland and Rosie Foley, this series promises to bring Motive back into the realm of formatted production. Piranha Bar’s Jamie Fitzpatrick is charged with the edit, with a transmission date for Setanta Sports still to be confirmed.
